Has anyone tried making a guitar strap?

I really fancy making my own guitar strap. Has anyone made a strap before? I'd love to get myself a Moody Strap but I don't want to end paying something like $200 stupid :P.

Or in fact what have you guys made from a DIY mood?

Thanks,

Josh.

well i would say you gotta find yourself some raw leather first, if you want anything of $200 quality its gonna take some doing.  I have never made a strap personally, but i don't seeing it being too hard.  Make sure to get yourself an industrial grade high quality hole punch (i am not talkin the stuff from office supply stores), that would be an important factor i think.
BKPz: Nailbomb+VHII, more to come...

Well I'd love to make a really comfy SnakeSkin strap.

I don't hazard a clue where to get an industrial hole-punch from though :/

I just buy El Dorado straps, they're expensive, but the quality is amazing and the one I've gigged for the past 8+ years is still showing no signs of needing replaced.  The leather tooling is amazing on the El Dorado stuff.

My grandfather used to make some straps. He's always trying to find a new business to get into. I have a lot of his old leather. You can find hole punches probably in the craft department. it would be with like leather and bead working kits. somewhere around there. all you need is a good hammer-punch. The straps we've made have an interesting adjustment on them. if you want I'll take some pics of the straps together and taken apart. Also, tin ships work well for the custom cutting, if I remember correctly'

Sure thing, that'll be no problem, as soon as I get the camera back from dad. It's actually his work Camera... but really which is the greater good here?
