Statistically people born in May are the happiest of people and are less prone to depression.  I was born on 2 June, so I guess I missed the boat by 2 days  :D
Then why do I want to kill?
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Hey, guys.

This is probably an odd question from a 37 year old family man with a decent job in the city, but...

It's my birthday today, and Ive been given a total of £80.  This is money that DOESN'T have to go towards anything for the kids, and DOESN'T have to put diesel in the car.  It's mine.  All mine.

And I'm VERY excited about it.

So what shall I spend it on?  I could get a couple of BYOCs for that; I don't have anything tubescreamer-ish.  Or maybe a cheap pedal board...

What would YOU get?

Mark.

make it 6oo quid, 8 days ago and you have MY 37th birthday, and I got a Gibson SG :O)

Guess that's the difference between kids and no kids ....

That I did NOT want to hear...

Thanks for the opinions, guys.  I'm liking the idea of the Blue Boy...

The blue boy is a nice OD, works well in the clean channel of my rockerverb so it should suit your Orange too.

BYOC screamer is a great pedal I have one and it works great. Not too difficult to build took me about 4 hours (but most of the time was struggling with wire stripping, buy a wire stripper!)

Slightly over budget but how about a looper pedal? I just bought a Boss RC20XL off ebay and waiting to receive it. RC2 is about £115. Sounds like a really fun pedal to play with and ideal for both practices and playing with your band. Search for it on youtube there are few great demos.

If you can, maximize on the £80 and buy it from america with the current ex-change rate you will have $160!

Chances are customs wont be bothered with a small parcel( they wern't when I recieved some heavy brass a day ago) and the shipping will be very small!

You could buy a Maxon OD-9(re-issue) for $150 or so.

OK, for the sake of "closure", me and the wife went out last night and saw Iron Man, followed by a slap up mean at Ronald McDonalds finest resurant in Southend On Sea.  This is soon to be followed by the purchase of a BYOC Tube Screamer...

Goodbye 80 quid, and thanks for the memories!

Thanks for all the tips.

Mark.
