Question about sustain in Epiphone Elitist SG
« on: May 11, 2008, 08:06:16 PM »
Just got a set of Rebel Yells for my Epiphone Elitist SG. They sound brilliant, except for one thing; the sustain is almost non existant, with notes trailing off within a second or two of hitting them. This is about the only thing that hasn't changed from my old stock pickups. So, my question is, is sustain 'decided' by the guitar or the pickup? This guitar is light as a feather, so I'm wondering if it's not that. And if it is dictated by the guitar, and there's nothing wrong with the pickups, is there a way to improve the sustain?

It's your guitar. Could be an action problem and as Wez said up there ^
"Would you like some lemon oil?"
"Oh, no thanks, I don't eat fruit."
