Pickup Poll for my Ibanez RG08LTD
« on: May 14, 2008, 07:08:02 PM »
Right. I recently got my RG08LTD. Now time to beef it up!

My choice is a Miracle Man set, however I'm stuck for choice as to what to have it look like. Gold, black, uncovered or custom.

The custom will be the engraving of the scratchplate design carried through the pickup cover of the bridge. I messaged about it and to quote Tim,

"Brace yourself",

It costs £110! (with an additional £1.25 for the cover)

Black will be your normal pole pieces on one side
Gold will be, neck engraved and one side pole piece and bridge double or just a single side pole piece.
Uncovered would be black (or maybe something else?)

So - poll time! And your reason why!

Thanks :)

Here's a little reference as to what the guitar looks like:

"Would you like some lemon oil?"
"Oh, no thanks, I don't eat fruit."

Gold as I don't like black covers all that much but I prefer covers to open coils.

Perhaps open reds (Possibly zebra) with gold slugs would look good (not sure if Tim has any red bobbins though.).
I too use chicken as a measurement.

Red would be awesome but yes, not sure if he would have red bobbins. Zebra would look slightly weird, hmm.

The black covers look completely off on that guitar IMO. Gold all the way.

How about gold with black pole pieces, to match the bridge?

Black engraved if you can get them, if not maybe the gold BKP engraved. The plain black looks a little too bare in the that guitar to my mind.
