Well, I don't know about that - I'll never like them, it's the shape - I just can't like them!

BUT - I will go back and edit my previous posts to remove the offensive parts, because that was pretty wrong of me, and I'm sorry if anyone was offended (not heard anything, but just feel a bit of a **** for saying some of that!)

Hey, it was late, I wouldn't worry too much.  I'd just like to point out that when I said 'a lenght of George L's' I was refering to high quality cable and nothing to do with a man named George!

Well everbody has their opinions, I pretty much like all guitars although more the classic designs, 335, strat, LP, SG etc.  But...

refering to my perfect rig as a tele and a bassman, I guess I was being a little 'anti-rig', i.e. a simple combination where you would have to play good to sound good, don't have to worry about loads of pedals and amp setting, just a volume and tone control and your fingers.

You don't think Tele's are cool then.  I suppose your more of an Esquire man?

as a builder i always see tele's as a blank template to do what i want to.   I am building another telecaster soon.... but it wont be standard!!!   (although maybe not a fanned fret baritone - will save that for something else)

there are a few really interesting blackmachine tele's out there that show what can be done with the the design

I'll hold off answering that question, Tom, just for a few months. Then all will become clear, I hope!

I don't have high standards when it comes to a rig, just the guitar area. So..

Want:
H&K Switchblade or a Single Rectifier
A 2x12 cab, not so sure what brand.
More Ibanez!

Have:
Ibanez RG08LTD
Ibanez RG280AH
Indie Signature
BOSS GT8

I find myself a simple person :)

my dream rig would be as follows:

amps:

Mesa Boogie Lonestar Special ( modded with Celestion V30s)
Marshall 1974x reissue w/greenbacks
Vox AC15 heritige handwired
Fender Super Reverb from the 60s
1970s Fender Vibro Champ
1964 Vox AC30 w/ celestion blues
Mesa Boogie Mark 1 reissue

cabs:

4x12 Orange slanted cab w/Celestion G12M's in it, in orange not black!
Mongotone 4x10 w/celestion G10s in it

For guitars I would have:

a custom made one off specially for me
JJ Retro handmade guitar (already owned)

Fx:

I have all my dream fx pedals already! Keeley Compressor, Keeley Katana Boost, Keeley Fuzz Head, Keeley Looper, MIJ Boss DD3 blue label, Line 6 Liqua Flange, MJM Roctavios, RMC3 Teese wha, with the pedal train 2 HC.

so for me it's mainly amps, I am now saving for either the Vox Heritige AC15 or the Mesa Lonestar Special 2x12, the mesa is my number 1 choice though.

It makes quiter sections louder, think of Dave Gilmour! It squeeses the tone, and makes it sing, very usefull for giving your guitar more sustain, and also making solo's stick out more. There are a lot of uses, for example it's used in almost every country song ever on electric guitar sounds, also in funk music, such as Prince uses it lots. The Keeley Compressor is much more expensive but well worth it, as tonally it is much nicer.

Well, in the current political climate, we can't be too careful about being sexist, racist, homophobic, or generally abusive. EDIT SO I CHOPPED THIS NEXT BIT OUT

That warmed my heart. Thank you. Teles do sound, look, and feel horrible at least to me. I'm glad there's someone out there with the same perception.

Oh yes to the Green Matamp!

But I'd have mine with a white panel and the standard straw-coloured cloth, whatever it's called.

(This is entirely based on looks, I've never actually tried a Matamp   )

I don't really have a dream rig, but I think my dream guitar would have to be a custom job.  I want a korina LP Junior, singlecut with improved top-fret access and probably a pair of humbuckers.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM
