Some back-burner GAS - acoustic
« on: June 04, 2008, 01:32:11 PM »
I want to get a half-decent acoustic guitar for me to bar-stewardise and murder flemenco, and maybe a bit of classical, but mostly flemenco on.

Must be nylon strung and good for hitting (for the percussion)

Any ideas?

Is a couple of hundred quid unrealistic for a decent guitar?

What should I be looking to spend?

What brands to look out for?

That looks to be right up the right sort of street, thanks.

Do you know if its a good guitar though? I'm going for, in case you cant tell, bang-for-buck here.

Technical term, that.

Sorry...couldn't resist :)  (I'm still with you on individual intonation of course!)

What about something like this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TAKAMINE-EAN60C-NYLON-STRING-ELECTRO-ACOUSTIC-GUITAR_W0QQitemZ110258450335QQihZ001QQcategoryZ22966QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

or a Godin?

Would get you the nylon strings without being an out and out flamenco guitar

All acoustic bridges are: they just have to be well made to begin with     But you cant adjust the action either, so its not too bad.

Well, mike, I'm not that fussed about it being an explicitly flemenco guitar, just that its nylon strung and well put together, so thanks for those suggestions
