I think Essex's reputation is largely undeserved - some of my best friends live in Essex, and it seems pretty nice to me. Certainly compared to where I live...

I dare say there are horrible bits, but it's a pretty big county.

Living in Belfast at the minute, but born amongst the bushes and the rushes of County Tyrone, in a wee place called the Moy.

The very small NI chapter on here should have a few pints some evening. Duke of York, anyone?

I'd second that motion.
My dad's an Essex boy, and my grandparents live in Essex, and it's great around there! Everyone's friendly, the countryside is gorgeous and goes on forever, there seems to be about zero crime...
I guess it's like anywhere - there's always gonna be the dodgy bits...

Born and bred in Allentown PA (USA). Now live in Gloucestershire in a little village called the Leigh (UK). Although there is a very strong celtic streak in me, and i think Ireland would be a place i would want to live when i'm older... depending if it gets much more expensive to live over there :lol:

I'm American/German, having a American dad and a German mom and I have lived in both countries, though now I'm living in England in Lewisham, London. I'll move to Birmingham in fall though.

Scarsdale, New York USA. I live about 15 miles from Manhatten. I went to uni in Florida and spent some time in California too, but New York is a good place for me.
