engl fireball and fuzz
« on: June 13, 2008, 02:47:19 PM »
Hi all,

was thinking that i might look at gettiing a fireball as i am getting a bit bored with my laney tt100.  How do fireballs and fuzz pedal interact (both fuzz face and big muff types)?  Any tips advice would be appreciated.

The Fireball works pretty well with overdrive/distortion pedals - but I've never tried a Fuzz Face or a Big Muff.

On a few occasions I need a crunch channel, so use a Marshall Guv'nor pedal and it works very well.

What sounds are you after/what music do you play? The main selling point of the Fireball is its fantastic dirty channel - if you plan on exclusively using the amps clean channel with pedals, it'll sound good (the clean channel is surprisingly good), but kinda avoid the purpose of owning a Fireball.

thanks for the reply.  I ended up getting one.  The fuzz question was more out of curiosity than anything, it was never going to be a deal breaker.   Very happy so far with the fireball, it eats the laney for breakfast
