Maybe we should start a South American World Cup qualifying discussion just for Fernando? Just be sure not to mention Paraguay....

I'm supporting the Dutch too =)

Yeah, they've played damn near flawless this year. Spain, Portugal, and Croatia are other favourites of mine. They always play great within the groups, then get beaten underservedly by a less convincing team (usually Germany) in the quarter finals. Such a shame, but one can always hope it doesn't happen this time.

Today gonna be Brazil vs Argentina and it's like England vs France, but I'm cheering up for the "hermanos" only because if they win the match, Brazil will win too, the coach will have the head cut down and we will be way more stronger... It's his first job as coach and it's completely stupid!

*sigh*  :(

Win a game by deliberately pushing a guy without the judge's notice. Real fine played, Germany.

At the moment I get the impression that it will be a Germany  v Italy final - not the best two teams but they are grinding out results when it matters...

Not exactly 'o jogo bonita' as Fermando would say, but very effective

Yeah... that's what I hate about these Cups. The fate of Europe is now in the hands of Turkey. Seriously, if they beat Germany we should grant them EU membership on the spot.

OK folks - I think that I am starting to see a pattern here...

Portugal v Germany - I went for Portugal

Croatia v Turkey - I went for Croatia

Holland v Russia - I went for Holland

Um, errr - good job I did not put any £££ on the results!!

If I were you I'd get and put some cash on Italy tomorrow as I am going for Spain!

^Agreed completely! Russia was a whole lot better today, and if they can beat Holland, they can beat Italy and Spain, too. But being the pessimist that I am, it means they'll lose the final to Germany.

bonita is like pretty, for girls... the male adjective is bonito, like handsome  :D

If Russia keep playing the way they played today, they can win this cup... I'm completely surprised by them, have not seen their games and I thought that would be a very hard, ugly way of play... But they did an amazing game, playing very nice!

I was really cheering up for Holland

I've been supporting Italy, and it's not nearly as fun as I'd hoped  :(

But congratulations to Russia and Turkey, deserved wins both. Russia vs. Turkey Final would be great, but in reality I think the turks will struggle against Germany, after a match like that and with tuncay and others out. Russia could certainly go all the way- but Spain have already beaten them 4-1 in the tournament, and the mental barrier of that will have a huge effect if Spain beat Italy.
Best of luck to them!

I think the Germans will get in the final, and most likely win it. They are a solid team. Having said that there were some gaps in their game with Portugal and if there was a bit more time left in the game i think Portugal would have pulled it level at 3-3 and gone to extra time as they were looking strong. The only team i can see troubling Germany is Russia, their performance last night was outstanding and i'd love to see them win it.

Well, the orange party is over.

IMO the Dutch team sucked. They didn't play like they did in the pools and couldn't get a grip on the match.

Russia played strong. Guus Hiddink certainly knows what he's doing.
