I had Germany in a sweepstake at work, so I've just missed out on a massive pay day (32 quid). :(

But I don't care - Spain were undoubtedly the best team in the tournament and on the day, a well-deserved win!  :D

I won a bet with my father... I am younger than I thought I would be.
Not a football fan, but from the occasional glance, Spain was dominating a helluva lot

No, £32!

I've always wondered, Fernando - sorry if it's a stupid question, but are the Portugese and Spanish languages quite similar?

A friend of me, son of Dutches, said that the diference of Portuguese and Spanish is quite like the diference from Dutch to German... probably someone that knows nothing in portuguese or spanish would think it's the same, as Dutch and German sound pretty the same to me

Portuguese: O melhor jogador do mundo

Spanish: El mejor jugador del mundo

It looks like the original spoken languages were once very similar, but the written languages have evolved quite differently!  :)

That was such a relief. Very well played throughout the tournament. A joy to watch.
