Seconded! What impressed me about Gallagher in the day, was his absolute focus on music. He had a vision of the kind of music he wanted to make and dedicated himself to it utterly. There was no popy-ness about him, no matter how hard his life on the road became. I guess that's why he seems more popular now than at his 70s peak. That dedication to music, rather than a music career, is now near extinct.
