Any of you see the Hulk?

I saw it last Saturday, and it was AWESOME!  I recommend it to all who want a good superhero movie.  I also heard that they're making Thor, Captain America, of course Nick Fury, and the Avengers.

Yeah, I thought it was passable, but certainly not worth writing home about.

We're told pretty bluntly that there's gonna be an Avengers pick in the last scene, but I didn't think Iron Man was great eitherm so that maybe doesn't bode well...

Did you like it better than the first Hulk?  I thought Iron Man was pretty cool.  The Spiderman's were okay, but the new batman should be pretty cool.

I liked the first half hour when it played in the favelas and it was like getting you to really finally wanna see him as Hulk, but overall it didn't do it for me. There was not the depth of the character or anything that I would have expected from Ed Norton, and Liv Tyler was so wrong. Will Hurt played a passable evil General, but that couldn't rescue it for me.

Wasted 2 hours IMO.

The metro always seem to give very low scores- I think it's all for controversy. Plus who trust the Metro? Its free and designed for scrounging students.*

good comic movies
X-men (more or less), Iron Man, Batman Begins

ok comic movies
fantastic 4, spiderman 1 and 2, ghost rider, the punisher (not the dolph lundgren one)

rubbish comic movies
spiderman 3, the hulk, the old batmans

with the hulk its like.. they saw what was wrong with the first movie.. made that better, but then $%&#ed everything else up.
IMO, ed notron put a rather BAD black spot on his career and lost quite a lot of credibility. liv tyler.. meh. was never a good actress to begin with and looks even MORE out of place in the movie than norton.

now, some comic adaptations to look forward to:
The dark knight
Iron Man 2
Ultimate Nick Fury
X-men Origins: Magneto and wolverine
maybe x-men 4, if someone will be bothered to make it

I liked alot! The CGI was great and it really showed the hulks anger and aggression. I also like the way they are tying in all the other super heros. I know IronMan fights the Hulk and makes a special "Hulk Buster" suit so maybe they will tie in the 2 on the next one.
Definately worth a watch.

Think Marvel are wanting a Avengers crossover- but wanting to build it up by having the characters have their own, standalone movies first.

Watchmen should be good- David Hayter (Solid freaking Snake!) wrote a draft of the screenplay that is getting used (Even Alan Moore approved). Seeing that he done a stellar job writing the first X-men movie I have hopes for the writing at least. Also directed by 300's Zach Snyder, I gots a bonar for it.

Haha, know what you mean about Tank Girl, i like it but i'd never recommend  it!

speaking of Alan Moore stuff, there's From Hell and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.  both were ok films if you ignored the source material, but terrible adaptations.  i have mixed feelings about Watchmen, part of me wants to see a movie, the rest of me wishes they'd leave a classic book alone.  i actually think it would work better as a massive budget tv mini-series.

what a really wanna see is a D.R. & Quinch movie!!
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

Hulk was entertaining I enjoyed it, those expecting shakespear tho had best look somewhere else.

Davey I disagree with your comment about the old batman movies, the 1st batman is by far the best superhero movie out. In my opinion all these modern ones are a bit cheap looking, shame really as theres a whole wealth of creativity in those comics which should be tapped into.
