It really depends on spec.  Your best bet is to contact Martin for a quote, but you're looking at closer to £400 than £100.  These are top quality cabs so they're not as cheap as a Harley Benton  ;)

I'm on the edge here... waiting for the sound of a van pulling up or the doorbell to go... arrrgh! Full review will follow when it arrives.

And I must admit, I sort of like Torn...  I feel dirty...

Think I'm pretty much sold on a 2x12 from Martin then with that recommendation.

And hamfist- I may well be interested, depending on how quickly you want to sell it/how soon I can get the cash! :D

See, Torn rocks!
More than Every Rose.. anyway.

My standard 2x12 is £350 plus shipping. other than that, Dave's described it perfectly.
Thanks!

I've never heard this Torn song you're all going on about :o

Sam, if you get an orange cab dont get black grille, it needs to be the nice beige one it looks loads better :)

Yeah the beige grille is very vintage/tasteful. Would suit the head better probably.

I've also just realised something extremely stupid: I don't have a kettle lead. DOH!

I thought Martin's cabs were £350, but I didn't want to second guess him.  I know you guys will probably think I'm biased, but I have tried quite a few cabs/speakers independently and I'm really very happy with Martin's.  They're superb sounding, great value for money, and you can have them built to your colour spec.  What more do you want?

Well my tube town 2x12 was £250 from Germany with custom tolex, grille, piping and speaker options. I dont know if it'll be as good quality as Martins though, but its good enough for me :)

I take it the Master knob is controlling the gain and the volume 1 and volume 2 are for the normal and bright channels?

Looks very nice. They are so $%&#ing loud though, mind your ears!!

Master controls overall volume, pre power stage.  Individual channel volumes are 'gain' in the distortion sense.

It's here!!!!!!

BUT I'm not sure if the speaker in the cab I'm borrowing is 50w or not!

Might have to wait until I can get hold of the mate whose cab it is! ARGH!

What happens if say, the speaker is a 30 watt?

EDIT: I should be alright, surely? The AMP won't get damaged, even if I blow the speaker, right?

You COULD damage the amp if a speaker blows - the amp will need to see a load.  That's why it's sometimes a good idea to wire speakers in parallel rather than series.

If you're running it through one 30w speaker BE CAREFUL!

Just keep the volume down and you should be OK  :)

It sounded AMAZING, until it went dead...  :o

It was working fine, and then went quiet suddenly and then cut off completely. I'm just hoping the amp isn't damaged.

I kept it low for a while- fine. Turned it up quite loud- absolutely fine. Brought it down to low-levels again to be careful- fine. 2 mins later still at low volume- it goes dead.

AGH! Needless to say, there is a lot of swearing to be heard in my house at the moment.
