After spending all week playing in my new Martamp Roadstar I thought it was time to test out a pedal to give it an extra kick when needed. I play blues - hard rock (all badly.)
Martin said it loves pedals and it certainly got its fill today.
I took all my gear and spent an hour and a half at Sounds Great trying out some great pedals: T-Rex Moller, Ibanez TS 9 reissue, Tonebone Classic, Blackstar Overdrive, Crowther Hotcake, Full Tone Fat Boost, Maxon od 808 overdrive, Moolon Overdrive, Xotic AC Plus and the Zvex Super Hard On.
The Mules suprised me with how much ground they can cover.
I thought the Zvex Super Hard On was brilliant. Just the 1 control and a bypass switch but it's basically just a big 'better' button.
Sadly I didn't end up getting it as I needed a bit more flexibility hence the trigger was pulled on the AC Plus as it covered a lot more tonal ground.
I now have GAS for more Zvex stuff. This sort of thing never happened before I started looking at this bloody forum! Now I have a new vice.
