Petition for an Ibanez S540LTD Re-Issue

Sign the petition if you'd like to see Ibanez Re-Issue the 1989 S540LTD in 2009.

Since the RG550 was re-issued for it's 20th anniversary, it would be great if the S series could be too.  The S series was called the "Saber" up until '89 so 2009 would be it's 20th anniversary.

The three finishes are BK, LR, and DY shown in this catalog pic:

It would also have the neck binding and sharktooth inlays as shown on the LTD from that picture.

These are the guitars in question:
DY

LR

BK

There was a petition with about 2,500 signatures for neon colored RG's before the RG20th's came out that the buyers at Ibanez took into great consideration.  If enough people sign there is a chance these will be made, please help!

I'd have to go with what Joe said, I'd rather have the guitar Alex has in his hands.

They look like the Frank Gambale models (FGMs).

I think they should reissue the rg565 to be honest.

Yep, totally agree.  Maybe they'll do those next year when I can afford them?

I'll be all spent up this year if I manage to get my hands on the latest two reissues  ;)

No Silver or Purple?

I've been trying to get a fairly decent one from evil-bay. Maybe an RG560 would be a good one to reissue too.

I'll sign if someone could also start a petition for a "fat neck" option on the S-series (and the HR Giger models while I'm thinking about it).  And a Rocket Roll reissue.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

I signed the petition.

Allen West from Obituary used one of the black ones for a time.  I seriously wanted one (as well as the later S540FMT model with a maple top, oval inlays & gold hardware) but for some reason I dithered & never got it - I've always regretted that.

They were much higher quality than the current S models...
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

The Rocket Roll idea from Philly would be a good suggestion.

There might even be some interest, especially since this chap has one:

I'd be terrified of a double-neck PGM though. I think that would gain more popularity to be honest.

They all look the same to me  :?  Most RGs are either pointy or rounded pointy. Not my thang.
