I was in tin pan alley today and saw the new Behringer Boss clones for £15 - has anyone tried them?  I understand that Boss/Roland are considering litigation over them, so I wondered if they are any good as bedroom pedals (plastic construction indicates that they wont be stage friendly!)

Well my V-Amp 2 cr@pped out on me a while ago, although that was probably because I bent the silly power supply pins. I was considering selling my Sansamp GT2 and buying the GDI21 for something like £30, since it's supposed to sound the same, but I know the GT2 will still be around in a couple of years as it feels very robust, whereas the Behringer....... who knows?

Behringer just copy someone elses product and design, use cheaper components and then put it in a different shaped box!
In my experience they are very unreliable.

If you want some cheap bedroom pedals that can be used on stage when needed, try some Danelectro pedals. The sound is okay and there's plenty of caracter in them and they come with a free battery. :P

Damn straight about Danelectro. I have a 'Fish and Chips' EQ pedal and a 'Peanut butter and Jelly' delay pedal. Both are fantastic.

my V-Amp 2 has lasted me 3-4 years I think, seems reliable to me! I used to just chuck it into the back of my amp to carry to band prac, it fell out a few times onto concrete and still works fine, somethings rattling inside it though

I'd steel clear of behringer. the sounds yu get arent good for the money, but they're not bad for the money either. They are super-unreliable, someone brought a buzzing amp, and a broken stompbox to the music shop yesterday and they were both made by behringer, and apparently they'd only had bedroom use. Danelectro pedals are supposed to be kick ass for the money (although i've never tried them), and i've never seen any break down (yet) not even the plastic ones!
LOVING the Mules!

One thing I did forget to mention was that you can't stomp on the Danelectro pedals. The design is apalling. The mode buttons are as big as my fingertips. I don't play live though so it doesn't bother me. They're not stage friendly but they sound awesome.

Hey, I just ordered a few of these for fun, the Hell-babe Wah / 7 Band EQ / NR100 Noisegate / DM100 distortion modeler & TS800 Tube Screamer.

I'll get the Wah and the EQ tomorrow so I'll let you know what I think.

Ya get what you pay for and I don't pretend they will sound boutique but for £15 a pop who cares.

The DM100 s'posed to emulate the RAT / Boss DS1 & DS+ so lets have a laugh in the bedroom.

I've got a soft spot for cheapo pedals and I'd only blow the cash on booze...:idiot2:

I do have a Very BAD habit of rollin' home drunk at 2am and plugging in  :guitar4:

I once had a neighbour (who must have been drunk as well) put his fist through the glass on my front door!

I stopped playin' after that as it kinda ruined the vibe - plus it scared the chit out of me.

I saw him a couple of days later with his hand in a plaster cast

So the pedals should sound wicked in the wee small hours of Sunday mornin'
