Got a reader's letter printed in Guitarist
« on: July 06, 2008, 07:58:51 PM »

Huh now that's what I call success, sent an email to Guitarist when I was still excited about the KT Tunstall gig I saw here in Brussels, and now they printed the mail word for word, an email in English by a German bloke  (says: CJ via email)

wow :) That's pretty cool! :)

I subscribe to Total Guitar, but I do occasionally buy Guitarist, so I might pop out and buy one, and see the message. :)

Does anyone else think it's a MASSIVE rip-off? Guitarist is good, but not THAT good.
Luckily my gf pays for my subscription :P

Well, it's only a quid or so more than the others I get (Guitar & Bass, Guitar Player and Guitar World) and only one of those has a CD.  And I haven't counted, but it seems to have more pages and more "content" generally than the others.

Anyway, I have to buy it to maintain my complete collection.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds

It's expensive, but I value their opinion more than anyone elses and they have the good stuff in there regarding articles/interviews/reviews etc.  There are good things in other mags, but I find them a bit hit and miss.

If only they could permanently stop Simon Bradley demo-ing stuff I'd be even more happy

KT Tunstalls live solo looper stuff is quite good though I dont really like the music a lot its better when she does it like that than on the record with a full band.

Sometimes it can seem a little bit pricey, but compared to other mags, I would say the content is of a much higher standard, and can be very interesting.

The others I occaisionally buy are Guitar Buyer and Guitar and Bass Mag, which are ok, but are a lot shorter. I used to buy Guitar World, but after careful consideration, i decided i didn't need that many adverts in one magazine.

+10,000!!!

They should give us the gear and let us do the demos. Simon always manages to make even the best gear sound brittle and thin

As long as you only buy the ones on your mother tongue ... but seriously, i buy occasionally German Gitarre & Bass (quite good) which IS my mother tongue, but Guitarist is the best!! I also red from time to time a French one, here in Belgium, when the GAS is really bad, it helps a bit as a quick fix  :)
