Less tight than the alnico 4 and 5 powered pickups. But still, BKPs "loose" is other pickup brands' "tight" due to the extreme clarity these pups have. So as long as you don't plan on doing gallop rythms on the low E, you'll be fine.

Tim usually advises against combining AII and AIV or AV, prefering either all the same or an AIV/AV combination.  The Riff Raff is a bright pickup and does take an initial bit of getting used to, but the combination with the SM neck gives a very versatile set up.

Going with an AV Mule and AIV Stormy Monday might give you everything you want, but whether you nail Slash's sound with it will depend on your other gear too!

I used to have an Alnico IV SM in the neck of a Les Paul which I really liked, but it was definitely cleaner and clearer sounding than Slash's tone.  A bit more like a Strat neck pickup if that makes sense?

The 'looser' bass of a regular Alnico II set of Stormy Mondays will give a warmer, fatter sound due to the slightly lesser note definition the weaker magnet gives.  They rock out as Ilyti says, but you won't get that super tight chugga-chugga-chugga.  Doesn't sound like that's what you're after though!

I play guitars with very similar pickups (no SMs, sorry Tim!) but I go from AC/DC to Whitesnake to Judas Priest to Airbourne etc using vintage Marshall clones and a couple of pedals.  If your using gain levels from clean up to "old Marshall with a Tubescreamer" they'll be great.  However, I don't think they'd be best suited to death metal on a Mesa Dual Rectum Fryer........

Hi Guys, thanks for all the advice that you've given me... really appreciate it  :)

Just to update you that I emailed Tim and he suggested a Mule in the Bridge and Stormy Monday Neck so I'll probably go with that... Can't wait to put the order through and join the Bare Knuckle family hahaha

Thanks again folks for you time and suggestions  :)
