Covering a pick up cavity?

I'm looking to covering over one the pick up cavities in my Greco Les Paul.

Although three pickups gives me a massive range of sounds, which i do use and would def miss  i just keep hitting the middle pickup when I go to strike the strings - so i think (at least temp) it needs to go.

I dont want to fill the cavity in permanently and loose the ability to put a pickup back in there should i choose too.

Ive seen some plastic style plates you can screw into the pickup ring holes, but i can't seem to find them anywhere now.

Does anybody know who sells them, or what the alternatives are

Lower the pup down as far as you can?

A blank piece of plastic made to the same size and shape as the pickup ring- thus covering the hole and having a low profile allowing your picking hand to have free reign without hitting the middle pickup

What colour are the rings?

They be black.

I have lowered the pick up down as low as pos, but its the pickup ring thats getting in the way!

I'm planning to take out the rebell yells and turn into a beast with some warpigs  (as i'll have two vintage sounding LP's in my collection already!!)

Probably a stupid idea, but:

You could make an oversized Les Paul scratchplate, with the part between the neck and bridge pickups extended to cover the middle cavity.

It might look a bit odd and flap around a bit though.  It would be easy if it wasn't for the arched top.

you could try a really low profile pickup ring (cheap anyway)

or some thin and flexible plastic which would bend roughly to the right shape.

if its a black LP custom, should be ok..?

As the guys above have said, if it's purely for practical reasons I'd get some scratchplate material and cut it to humbucker ring size.

Yeah sounds like a plan.

I'll just get some black scratch plate style material and do a bit of DIY.
