Newbie - Mules on the way
« on: July 10, 2008, 07:47:22 PM »
I am a newbie - just ordered a set of calibrated Mules with aged covers for my new LP R9 to replace the Burstbuckers. Can't wait............ anyone got this combination?........ I am expecting vintage PAF type tone for classic blues/rock. Hope I've made the right choice. It appeared to be between Mules and Stormy Mondays. I figured the extra cost for the aged covers would be worth it as the axe is VOS spec and therefore slightly aged in appearance. Anyone same?

Plugging in to Blackstar Artisan 30 with various pedals so hoping for massive improvement to standard Gibbo pups.

Please tell me I'm doing the right thing folks  :band1:

photo doesn't reflect true colour - it's called sunrise tea burst and is far more "brown" than the cherry sunburst look in the pic. Think Ice Tea but darker. Gorgeous - unusual colour for European export too so should hold value well.

Welcome!
My Mules are in a Tokai as well, a Love Rock (not sure what model number, but it's a Japanese one, "LP Standard" in black). They do the business for me in there. :D
I originally bought them for an Epi, but they didn't quite do what I was hoping for (it has a basswood body/neck - sounds good, but wasn't my perfect match for the Mules), so I bought the Love Rock for them!

Pics of my LP R9 with Mules and aged covers fitted. Awesome sound. Also upgraded bumblebee caps to Luxe versions. A worthwhile upgrade for anyone thinking of it. The Gibbo-fitted bumblebee caps are cheap Chinese things - for about £20 you can get the real thing.
