I have no idea about this. is there any analogue reverb pedals on the market for a sensible price? can yu get external spring reverb? what is best for reverb on a jcm800? how much do yu reckon i should pay for something half decent? what do yu recommend? WHY IS THE FULLTONE TAPE ECHO SO EXPENSIVE? i really really want one, but a grand!??! £1000, one thousand punds sterling, its ridiculous. what kind of people buy those?! (lucky ones i guess)

Rich people...

Matamp used to make valve spring reverbs, as do or did Peavey and Fender. They're not cheap, anything up to £500.

I like my TC G-Major, nice verbs and delays.

Does you're JCM have a FX Loop?

Hughes&Kettner's 'Replex' is also a great unit.

No there's no loop at all, do i need one for reverb?

What do you all think of the EHX holy grail series? it's digital, but apparently quite realistic? all the other EHX pedals i've tried have been GREAT, but i think they've all been analogue. I guess i really want an analogue reverb in reality, but i do have a degree of brand loyalty to EHX; i love their other stuff.

Try the Danelectro Spring King. Very decent price and real springs in it.

it didn't get great reviews on harmony (Sound Quality 6.4 (18 responses)), but thanks, and i'll definately try it out - why trust a load of random strangers ey? :P

if you put it in an effects loop or before the amp in a JCM800 and you cranked it, wouldnt it sound horrible?

The loops on some JCMs ok, JCMs don't sound their best when the output valves are really overdriving, they go to pieces. So as most of the dirt is preamp driven, you should be OK.

Don't put anything like delay or reverb infront....horrible audio sludge will be all you hear!

I know that tone hounds will sneer but I have a digitech digital reverb and it does everything (including surf, the most verb of all guitar playing) really well

I wouldn't bother modding it if it's not got one, which means no point thinking of reverb - it sounds a bit empty at home but in a band you'll have a better sound without the verb - plus you have to play better 'cause there's no reverb covering for you!

Actually putting a delay infront makes for "cool" sounds... I swear that's what Dredg do because they get some pretty messed up delay tones.
