Painting a cover
« on: July 15, 2008, 08:29:29 AM »
Hey guys,

I just stumbled across a bargain camo Painkiller and jumped on the deal a bit impulsively. I'm wondering if any of you know what the best way to paint the cover black would be? Or failing that, how easy/hard it would be to remove the cover altogether.

Thanks!
-Liam

Well I have no idea of how hard it would be to paint the cover, but I think it would be easier to send it to Tim, and have him remove the cover. Although Tim does wind it differently to compensate for the cover, but I don't know if he would do that, you will have to wait for someone else to confirm it.

Or send it for a re-cover. Costs about 20 per pickup I think.

My only concern is the shipping, since I live in Australia :-\

I guess camo isn't your thing? I'd imagine that looks lovely! I'm actually thinking about a camo PK as my next BKP...

Oh yeah man, I don't mind the camo in and of itself, but I'm planning on putting a sustainiac in the neck, so it doesn't really match very well.

Just get a camo PK neck. You won't need a sustainiac once you've heard the ridiculous sustain it has :)

hehe, that's a fair call. My new distortion pedal gives some pretty ridiculous sustain too. Damn my addiction to gadgets...
