ok, this is just in my head at the moment, but i like to talk pickups and you lot like to talk about pickups, soooo
i'm open for suggestions hehe

the guitar,
full size strat body HH routed
recessed OFR
22 fret maple/maple neck

style to play? oldschool metal/some heavy rock

i'm thinking for something of a little more vintage output
maybe a VHII bridge, but for neck i got no idea =P lots of articulation, sustain, singing leads and useable for tight rythm playing

bring it on guys =)

the holydiver is a pickup that doesn't seem to get a lot of mention round here - i suppose it's more of a "widdler's" pickup?

hey Davey, i put a bunch of stuff up in the players section with the VHII's, and a lot of that is on the neck PU. In fact, the solo I did on Lepersmesa's backing track is played exclusively on the neck PU.

that looks sweet!

I'd still like to hear comments on the Holydiver as I've already got a pair of VHII's, and when I build my 80's hard rock/metal/shred axe I'd like to try something different

They do exist. I saw a '79 LP Custom with maple fretboard at the local shop some weeks ago.
