A New Concept For BKP Id Like To See
« on: July 19, 2008, 11:04:27 PM »
I dont know how people would feel about this, but id like to see BKP realease a single coiled size humbucker or two and a P90 sized humbucker as well.

I would like to buy a BKP P90-HB like 6 of the 7 avalable Di Marzio ones. Id like to see that because i have a planned project of a PRS SE One that im gonna buy and mod the heck outa. Id like to buy BKP and not go to another compeditor as i now like what BKP does and the way they sound to the competition.

Its been covered a hundred times before.

Tim does not want to make Single coil sized humbuckers.

I'm sorry to be so frank, but its been an ongoing thing for a long time now, alot of people seem to want one, but for a variety of reasons it seems that they won't be coming any time soon.

I remember there used to be a Mini Mule - Can't remember if it was a P90 sized mule or a Single coil sized Mule, I wonder what happened to it actually....

I think not many people were ordering em and it and it wasn't financially viable to keep making em.
LOVING the Mules!

I don't think we're ever going to see a BKP stacked single-coil, s/c sized humbucker, P-90 sized humbucker.  Neither are we going to see blade pickups or active pickups.  Probably not Gretsch pickups or mini-humbuckers either, unless there was sufficient demand.

The good news is, all those things are available from other manufacturers, and because BKP don't make 'em you don't need to feel guilty about buying 'em. :)

I'm not 100% sure, it has certainly been mentioned in the forum that they weren't available any more, but maybe they are again!  :)

I'm sure it's still possible to get an existing minibucker rewound though.

A Mini Mule would probably be perfect for what id be wanting, may be worth asking, if they are avalable by special request and are pretty innexpencive i may just order one.

A mini humbucker can fit into a P90 rout, is that right???

I dont think you need a p90 size humbucker when theres the pig 90 available. If its anything like the humbucker size one its pretty damn good - quite humbuckery but with a bit of twang when you dig in :)

Yeah, Gibson use modified soapbar P-90 covers as mounting rings for minibuckers.  Attaching them to the body is a pain though.

I'd pick the phone up to Tim and chat it through. You never know he might build something to sort you out.
