R.I.P Sikth
« on: July 29, 2008, 11:09:29 AM »
Hey guys, sorry if this has already been posted some where but I did a search and couldnt find anything about it!

It appears the Sikth are bringing things to a close and will be breaking up (although they have all agreed to work together in the future). Full details can be found http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=4556792&blogID=399754088.

This is a great loss to many of us here as I know a lot of their fans are regular members of these boards and they will be sorely misssed.

Kind of old news, but it hasn't been posted here to my knowledge either. It's a big loss, but they were a well-respected band so the members will have no problems getting on stages with future projects.

Its a serious taboo subject - Prolly why nobody has mentioned it.

But I'm pretty sure everybody knows - And its a serious SERIOUS shame.

Why? Surely it was brazenly obvious after the good singer left that they were ost likely dead in the water? I mean, nobody would have really missed the ten a penny emo-ish one but Mikee wasa cracking vocalist and an enormously distinctive one.

Can't say I'll miss them at all personally, but it's always a shame when a British band doing relatively well for themselves disappears.

Why?

Because they're one of the greatest bands that have ever lived (imo) and the news is extremely upsetting/depressing.

Not mocking your taste; just saying that they weren't my cuppatea and that I won't be missing them.
They were the sort of band I wanted to like; I knew that what I was hearing was impressive and interesting, but it still did nothing for me...
Sort of like Shakespeare.

Pick those toys up, you've made a fucking mess all over your mum's floor.

I didn't mock anything. At all. I realise you've clearly had a teenage-girl-overcome-with-emotion-at-N-Sync's-split calibre breakdown over this news, but you're really reading into what I said a tad much.

I just didn't get why the subject would be taboo. I personally, can usually bring myself to talk about bands I love even after they've broken up  :?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I AM mocking now, but only because you jumped in with the closed eyes, jumping to conclusions, expletives instead of thinking approach.

I have to admit that I have been wondering for the last 3 or 4 days why the subject would be taboo. Short is some claim regarding the molestation of snails (or the like)

But now that nfe dares mention the subject (damn this needs a Cthulhu reference) !

No seriously.

This is $%&#ing pathetic.

I'm upset cos a band I love has broken up - And you decide that its better to snigger at the side?

Nfe, I'm a perfectly mature, and perfectly content person, so instead of mocking me like some arrogant tw@t, put your ego aside and try to be human.

I really was wondering why it was taboo as it is a
word with a very specific meaning (ie forbidden to be spoken about)

Obviously this is not the case (and I'm a little dissapointed)

And a word of advice nobody is dead, maimed or injured so calm down and stop getting so upset (cos something to put this in it's proper perspective will happen to you someday)
