Not at all convinced that this is a good idea Mr Gibson...
I'm a Line6 Variax user (although I haven't plugged one in since I started buying BKPs :roll:), and yeah sometimes the computer itself might blow, and the piezos can die, but
most of the Variax "reliability issues" seem to be down to...
....badly seated connector plugs and dirty plug connections...
As long as the cavity in that LP is hermetically sealed, and the user doesn't intend to move the guitar about at all, then it will probably be perfectly reliable for gigging...

Nice idea, but people will rip that lot out and put the old stuff back in the minute guitars start failing in front of audiences. Also, what are replacement pickup suppliers going to do about the connectors? Reminds me of when IBM's new PC turned out to be non-IBM-compatible and we all fell around laughing and started buying compaqs, dells, etc, etc... not as bad as that, but reminds me of it :D
