NOS 6V6s?
« on: August 03, 2008, 06:26:25 AM »
I have a Marshall Studio 15 which takes 2 6V6s.

Wondering if anyone has any links to some NOS 6V6s that are affordable.

I found these, but I do believe I should be able to find them for almost half the price.

Let me know if any of you know of any deals.

Thanks in advance.

I would say thats about the going rate (check KCA for comparison) - you'll get cheaper on ebay if you want to take a chance.

I had good luck on eBay - got a NOS Brimar 6V6 for £5, but I wouldn't deal with anyone who hasn't (a) got a really good feedback rating, and (b) has verified that the valves work with a proper valve tester.

Sorry - off topic but I reckon they should reissue that Studio 15 to compete with the likes of the Orange Tiny Terror and Matamp Minimat etc.
LOVING the Mules!

Thanks guys, guess tube prices have skyrocketed in the past year or so as with everything else.

Yeah they should.  It was an awesome little amp with a built in attenuator and whatnot, and they sell for at least 4 digits these days and mine is like new... I paid $500 a few years ago and thought I overpaid as I saw plenty selling $300-400 just before I bought it but haven't seen one that cheap since.
