FINALLY... Rebel Yells in PRS Corvette
« on: August 11, 2008, 02:36:16 PM »
What seems like several years ago, I ordered some Rebel Yells. At the time, the guitar was away being refinished and was due back in a week. It ended up taking, well... a lot longer.

Last week I finally got the guitar back with the new pickups in it. I spent all last week at IGF jamming with it, so I think I've got a pretty good idea how it sounds on stage.

At the IGF jams, everyone plugs into the same backline, so the only difference in tone is from the guitar. One of the other tutors told me I got the biggest tone he heard all week with my Rebel Yell-equipped PRS.

So far I've mostly just done high gain stuff on the bridge pickup, so I'm still learning all the sounds it can do. So far I've noticed that it cleans up well on the volume pot, cuts through really well, and sounds massive (and well-defined) in drop C# tuning.

Thanks Tim!
Bare Knuckles owned: Mules, VHII, Rebel Yells, BKP-91, Strat 63 set, Riff Raffs.

its nice your rebel yells worked out well.

you might be interested to know i was inspired by your post and tried drop c# tuning, and found it quite useful!

That's the longest wait for a pick up change EVER! (yes, i know there was definitely more done than that ;) )

I find it quite weird that the only BKP's I'm interested in at the moment are the Rebel Yells and Crawlers... the signature models...
