I've been looking to replace my bridge pick up for a little while now. I've been looking at Dimarzios/Seymours for a while, but cant really find anything that has really grabbed me so far.

My main guitar is a Maverick F1, and i want to change the bridge HB Pickup. At the moment its just a bit too dull and underpowered compared to my back up guitars. Im playing it direct into  Spider Valve HD100(which rules, by the way  ). My band plays classic '80's rock covers (Kiss, Billy Idol, Whitesnake etc).

So, anyone got any suggestions of which BKP would suit??

If I were you I'd be looking at the Rebel Yell.

My thoughts exactly! Ive just been listening to the SS recordings with the Rebel Yell and I think thats just what im looking for. They sound massive!!

I've got one with a ceramic warpig set and a maple fretboard (a rare prototype model) and it is epic.

(you may be interested to know it has a good raunchy hard rock/metal tone through my Orange Tiny Terror with a boss SD-1 set low to tighten the sound. I can't say as to how it would interact with the SpiderValve though...)

Is it an old style or one of the new ones (old ones have rubber ribbed hardware and the new ones have Wilkinson hardware and a clitoris-shaped pickup selector.)?

I'd give another vote for the RYs or possibly a holy diver, VHII or painkiller set (sorry; that's probably a bit too much choice there...).

I think mine is an early one-i bought it ex demo 4-5 years ago, and it has the rubber ribbed selector knob, but it didnt come with the whammy arm, so had to get an aftermarket one. No doubt that they are great guitars-i also have a G1 and am looking to add an X1 to my collection as well!

G-Series are really nice.

I almost bought one the other day but I couldn't think of when I was likely to use it.

They certainly are, but a completley different beast to the F1. I'm just using it as a backup at the moment but am trying to work it into the set a bit more. There was a lovely Korina one on Ebay last week which only went for £147. Criminal!!!

If you give more info about the guitar (woods, bridge type, fatness of neck, acoustic tone of guitar, etc...) we could give some tips. I was googling for Maverick Guitars, but there doesn't seem to be much info in the web?

Maverick are a smallish British guitar company.

Their guitars are designed and prototyped in Britain and the manufacture is outsourced to a small factory in Korea.

The F1 will have an Alder or Basswood body (dependant upon the date of manufacture. Probably Basswood as Alder was more common on the discontinued Streetfighter premium model) and dual humbuckers.

The fretboard will be rosewood.

not sure if maverick are in business at the moment, but they have been on and off for quite a while so its possible they are back again by now.

a guy i do some work for had an endorsement with them and got some great deals, problem is that the people in charge of the remaining stock wanted him to pay full price when he wanted a new one.

its a nice guitar, i copied the neck shape for him on a replacement neck i made for a project strat he is working on ... felt great, i think i got quite close

I think Twilight Odyssee has VHIIs in such a guitar and swears by it for 80s rock to heavy.*

*(or HolyDivers in another one, dunno which he prefers though)

TO doesn't have anything with basswood.  He has VHII in a mahogany Tele, Cold Sweat in Alder Strat, Riff Raff in LP and Miracle Man in Maple Kamakazie.  I  am just putting him an Alder single HB/Floyd Rose with maple neck guitar together, but we haven't decided on the pickup yet.
