We've had samples of Alnico VI and VIII to play with in the past year, as with all the other grades of Alnico they're quite different in their characteristics and not simply stronger versions of Alnico.
I am aware of Kinman using AVIII but not anyone else.............I personally didn't go for the tone although the AVI was promising as it was in an AIV ballpark.
There are different grades of ceramic to although CVIII is the best and the one I choose to go with over CVI.
