Dean Shredder Search Contest - Bare Knukle Nailbombs
« on: August 16, 2008, 08:09:11 PM »
Hi Guys, I've submitted a video for the Dean Shredder Search Contest, this is my first contest.

In general I don't like competition in music but I thought this was fun!

Check my entry

http://www.deanguitars.com/shredder/viewProfile.php?id=1578

Gear Used:

Mark IV - Music Man John Petrucci with Nailbombs - SM57 - Mesa 1x12 with Celestion C90

P.S.

Sorry for my silly faces, but they are looking for a Shred-Rock-Star, so I HAD TO! :D :D :D

tastefully done! i watched the other videos, and you've really defined tone compared to alot of the other entries, plus more musical. i gave you an '11', but i think you should make more RAWK faces ;)

I'm no shred fan, but I liked your clip - nice and melodic with no pointless w@nkery.

Not near as fast/technical as other entries I've seen, but definitely more musical than most. You've really got the Petrucci feel down both in style and tone. Great job.

Really good tone, was the riffing at the start done on the neck pickup? so clear yet chunky. The other videos are just done by stereotypical shredders- long haired virgins with pointy guitars in their bedrooms.

Think i should submit a video? I can't shred and I'd use my telecaster...

That was ace.

I loved the hammer ons - not blisteringly fast, but used to get a different voicing than you would with a pick.

Really good, intelligent playing.  Top bloke.

Completely agree Philly - much prefer this to most of the million notes per second stuff. Good tone too - I find a lot of mega fast shredding sounds like the old electronic space invaders games.

Like that Tele, Wez.  Is it a trick of the light, or is the neck angled back?
