Mule set on a new original thing

I seem to have this problem recently of doing a short thing and not having any idea of where to take it.. this is one of those. I cant really tell if I like the clean bit, not sure if it really fits in with the last bit.
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=493678&songID=6820113
Used neck one with volume rolled down for all the cleans and the rest was bridge with volume full and my trusty keeley rat in front of the laney! Oh and the "bass" is neck mule with me cr@ppily fingerpicking, into amplitube 2 on a bass model with the octave pedal in front to detune it. What do you think to the mix? I cant tell whether the bass is too high or not.
edit - updated it with less messy clean intro!

awesome mix. it's hard to believe that you can get some cool tone out of laney head(I never had a good experience with em') :) i thought the bass is lil bit of a weak side. keep up the good work!!

Yea the "bass" isnt amazing, I really need to get one for recording. What cab did you try a Laney through? Mines great with nicely broken in G12H speakers. It always sounds best with the gain on about 6-7 then the rest of it added in with a Keeley Rat, seems to sound better than getting all the gain from the amp. Loads of people seem to hate the stock TAD valves but mine seems to sound ok with em.. I have some Winged C EL34s that I keep meaning to get fitted but I keep putting it off
btw I only just remembered to ask that guy if he still has my sharona without the lead guitar for you

oh yeah, I am glad that you remembered about my sharona, that would be totally awesome!
btw I've tried laney GH50 with the stock 4x12 cabinet for a while, it certainly didn;t sound like your clips :) what volume do you dial it in for recording?

I usually have the master somewhere between 1-2 as that gets rid of some of the fizz. I'm taking it to get revalved with my new EL34s tomorrow so there might be an improvement in the fizz. The guy who mixed my sharona said he should have it and will sort it out when he gets home :)
btw someone on HC just posted this clip of their GH100TI through an Engl v30 cab, it sounds mahoosive for metal -
