Which pickup for Page Hamilton's sound?

I know he uses a Dimarzio Air Zone pickup (alnico 5, dc: 17.49).
Right now in my Les Paul Custom I have a Rebel Yell that it's not doing it.

Funny you should mention that, one of my HD clips is the opening riff to "Street Crab" from the Helmet album Betty (well, without consulting the CD upstairs I think that's the song/album name).

A word of caution on Holy Divers in Les Pauls though: If your LP is a very heavy, bassy one (i.e. >10lbs) then you might find the HD too thick sounding.  The LP used in the above clip is quite a light one (around 8lbs IIRC), but the HD set that is in it started off in my Goldtop (which is around 11lbs) & I wasn't keen on the sound at all.

In the right LPs though, HDs sound HUGE

I know it sounds odd, but the closest BKP's to the Tone Zone kind of EQ I've tried are the Miracle Man and Warpig neck versions
and the MM neck works really well in the bridge position
FAT, powerful and very fluid
darker, bassier and more nasal than the Holy diver, but that's how I'd describe a TZ too
and it has around 17.5k, alnico 5 magnet, just like the TZ
I suppose the Air Zone is like this too
but I wouldn't do it in a LP Custom anyway

the Holy Diver is the Rebel Yell bigger brother, so I don't know if you're going to be happy with it if you're not liking the Rebel
maybe you should try different amps and settings, maybe speakers

the main thing is that his guitar is alder with a very dark pickup, so he has that bassy hollow tone
if you put a pickup that strong and dark in a lp custom, you'll get a MASSIVE sound, very different from his
maybe if you try something less powerful and middy... maybe an emerald(?)
