Your ideal PRS?

Seeing as everyone loves PRS' ( ), let's do a quick survey- what is your dream PRS? Past or present models, production or private stock- whatever!

My personal favourite is the Singlecut Satin with trem + soapbars. Absolutely awesome!

Santana shape in all korina with 7 strings, 25'' scale, BKPs and piezos. So in other words not like a PRS at all.

No PRS is my ideal PRS.

To be fair, I cant stand them. They either look like museum pieces (with the curly maple tops, binding, gold etc) or they look like they're trying too hard to look cool and minimalist (notably the bare wood ones). Sound wise I think they sound pretty sterile and they play TOO well (I like my guitars to feel a bit shitety to really give it some). Besides, people are too scared to scratch them and they don't look cool with cigarette burns/buckle rash/paint missing etc.

Just my two penneth.

The Mira would look awesome with a headstock like Wez put on Phil Kings SG.

Figured top (not necessarily a 10-top & not too bothered whether quilt or flame)

In other words, pretty much stock spec Custom 24.  I really like them & covetted one for years.  Mine came with a 20th Anniversary trussrod cover (though it's not a 20th Anniversary model as it has std inlays rather than the special 20th Anniversary ones), the only thing I would change on it is the selector - the 5-way thing is just silly, the 3way + push/pull (like my Singlecut has) is far superior.

My other ideal PRS is a Custom 24 with a wide-thin, all rosewood neck, flame top (nowt fancy, I just don't like quilt), whale blue/black cherry/grey black, fitted with a set of Nailbombs or Crawlers.

I went for the single cut. I'll probably never get one but that is what I would go for if I did. Every PRS I have ever played has been fantastic and it is hard not to like them. I know a few inverted snobs who diss them but I think they are fine instruments.

I voted McCarty, but in truth I'd never buy a PRS, Gibsons do it for me every time in head-to-heads comparisons.

Bucketshred- I know what you mean about them playing almost too well. But even so, I can't help but love them! :)

That McCarty Korina that Philly posted looks fantastic. Especially in that finish.


And that's very interesting HTH! I almost find it the opposite, personally. But I would always have a Gibson or two in my arsenal, because no PRS can quite do what they do.
