Nailbomb Sings The Blues
« on: September 06, 2008, 02:45:56 PM »
Haven't posted here for a while, so I thought I'd have a bit of a noodle with the ol' Nailbombed Charvel.

This is the Shovel into a Blackstar HT Dual green channel (just enough dirt to start to break up the signal), into a Moen Pretty Dolly delay, then into the Orange GRO100.  From there into a Samson Q mic and into Cakewalk.  A little reverb added at the desk.

The accoustic is a Simon and Patrick Spruce 6.

The idea was to try to get a Strat blues thing going.  The Nailbombs have that PRS type wiring, the 2 outer coils on together.  I think it's ALMOST there...

Hope you like it.

Mark.

I think you've got a very convincing single coil tone goin' on there. Nice playing too.

Hi,  I was looking on the players section for Nailbomb clips.  There was some Nailbombs going on  the bay and I was very tempted but not absolutly certain they were for me.  Your clip pushed me over the edge and I stopped thinking and pressed the buy now.

Really does sound  lovely great clip keep them coming.

Excellent!  That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me for ages, including my wife...

The NBs are superbly flexible and have SUCH good cleans!

Wow, that sounded great. You're on my ipod now, Mr Bump :) I agree that it sounds very single-coily, but I think it has a throaty quality that I've never been able to get out of a strat, so I personally think it sounds better than a strat. You've also inspired me to turn the gain down more often (and to even more seriously consider NBs in my next superstrat). Thanks for a great clip!

I love Gary Moore - have seen him solo (Back on the Steerts tour), with Lizzy, G-Force, Scars and guesting on other gigs.  He gets brilliant tone from his guitars - whatever they are.

I do not however feel that he is going down the right track with his new album. Yes, it's great but it sounds to me like rehashing older blues material.  I think he should go back to Corridors of Power/ Still got the blues driving leads.

Just my 2p worth!!!

Cheers Lads,
Jim
