Jeff Loomis Solo Album
« on: September 09, 2008, 10:05:38 AM »
So Jeff Loomis from Nevermore has brought out his own solo album. I've been waiting for this to happen for years now and I've downloaded a couple of tracks from www.play.com (you can buy the songs for 70p each which is worth it just to sample a few tracks). The two tracks I bought were Devil Theory and Shouting Fire At A Funeral, these two tracks are like the best solo sections of any Nevermore track, just stretched out for a full song. He can deffinatly write an awesome song.

Best way to describe it is, if Jason Becker still played and co-wrote with Marty again and wanted to go into an very heavy mood. It's heavy, it's beutiful, it's melodic and it's bloody awesome. There's tracks on the album that are more ballad based, not all of them are 'brutal'.

So go download a couple of tracks and see what you think. I'll be buying the album  :P

Heard it.

Its not riffy enough for me. I'd love to have seen some huge instrumental riffing passages (a la the middle bit of Godless), but theres a hell of a lot of talent and creativity in this album!
