Signature Les Paul
« on: September 25, 2008, 04:25:50 PM »
I know that there are a few folks out there who have one/have owned one of these - this seems like a good deal to me - not for me as I am GASSED out but might be of interest to someone on the forum

The guitar!

That satin red was the finish I was really after for my Sig- never saw one in months of hunting.

And that price is VERY good, especially as it's so new. If I had the cash I would have bought it the second I clicked the link!

Is it all mahogany (i.e. no maple top), do you think, or is it just the way the photos have come out?

Digital cameras don't seem to like red/cherry guitars, when I was selling my SG it was murder getting photos that showed the colour properly - they made it look strangely flat and orangey.

Philly- as far as I'm aware all the Sig's have identical spec as such a limited batch were ever produced (literally no time to change anything). So I would imagine it is a solid maple cap like mine.

Having said that- mine is incredibly light. So much so that Martin (Martamp) thought it might be chambered/have weight relief holes in when he tried it!

I would guess it's a maple top too.

That's a great price, if you like the satin finish.

Not crazy about the colour or the satin finish, but it does seem a very good price.  Surprised if that doesn't sell!

jeepers, that's a really good price. if i didn't already have an edwards lp copy (and it wasn't pickup only), i'd be interested too... :) EDIT: not 100% convinced with the colour, but as philly says it could just be the photo. but for the price, even if it wasn't any better-looking in the flesh, i wouldn't be overly concerned...
