And we didn't even end up killing each other in the process... Being brothers doesn't help when doing something like this

Aaaanywho, we thought we'd go with something easy so as not to waste too much time in making the clip so we recorded a cover of an Iced Earth song called The Hunter. (Off the Dark Saga album, go get yours now if you haven't got it already! :P)

Gear used:
Left guitar, leads and harmony in the clean intro: Edwards E-LP-85CD with a calibrated set of Nailbombs (Kride)
Right guitar and clean intro: Edwards E-LP-98LTC w/ a set of Black Dogs (me)

The cleans were played with the neck pickup on both guitars of course. And I think Kride used the neck pup for the short 'solo' too. Otherwise it's all bridge pickups.

The guitars were plugged straight into Kride's Line 6 X3 Live and we used a custom patch that he's made mixing the 5150 and Diezel Herbert models. X3 went into E-MU 0202 audio interface and straight into my computer. Recording was done with Cakewalk Sonar 7 PE and the drums were made by using Addictive Drums plug-in and Guitar Pro.

Go easy on us people!  :D

Ah, pre-triplets-of-death Iced Earth! And pre-Barlow, too, if you get the original album? I don't remember.

Playing is great, mix is pretty good. The guitars could be a bit tighter/crisper sounding, but that's all personal opinion, isn't it?

Excellent effort.

Nice avatar, too!

Cheers! :)

The mix is almost untouched. I just set the levels right, panned the guitars and that's about it.
'The Dark Saga' came out in 1996 and was actually 2nd album featuring Barlow.

If you meant my bro's avatar, Evergrey does indeed kick all kinds of ass! :D

Sounded great!

You can hear both guitars characteristics and that they're loaded with BKP's  :)

Ceramic magnets would probably give a bit more cut/tightness in the mix (for the lead parts), but to be honest I didn't missed that and it's all down to taste.

Very nice played.
