Holy Diver leadwork/riffage
« on: September 30, 2008, 11:39:24 AM »
Hello everyone, been a while since I posted a clip & I've been in a metal mood lately, so I thought I'd share something I'm working on :)  It's mostly some untidy lead noodling over a sludgy riff, there's a little neck solo in there, a bit of wah, some twin-harmony work etc...

Guitar: Jackson RR1T w/ Holy Diver calibrated set (all except ½ of last solo)
Guitar: Charvel 550XL w/Holy Diver bridge (for the trem bit at the end of last solo)
Pedal: Morley "Bad Horsie" wah
Amp: Engl Savage 120 head w/BBE 482 in FX loop
Cab: Engl E412SS with Celestion Classic Lead 80 & Celestion G12K-100 speakers
Mic/Recording: 2 Shure SM57, Presonus Bluetube DP, Fostex MR16HD

NB: I switched the cab to 16 ohm stereo & close mic'd just a Classic Lead 80 for the leads & harmonies.  The riff is in 8ohm mono with a Classic Lead 80 & a K100 each close mic'd & panned ~2 o'clock L-R.

Enjoy :)
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

I like it, nice tone. Pinch harmonics sound good. Although it does go slightly out of time in places, I think, but good playing. I like the trem bits, they sound sweet.
