Time to stop looking, and start buying!
« on: September 22, 2005, 09:39:07 PM »
Hey guys,

I have been a lurker on this website for a while, and I'm sick of hearing these pickups second hand!   The reason I haven't gotten one yet is because I'm not sure which bridge pickup to get.  I don't know if I should get a high output like the Miracle Man or lower output like the VHII.  Recommends please!

Gear is Washburn LP copy, and a Marshall AVT50.  Hoping one day to get a JCM 800 or an ENGL.

I would like a pickup that is all about TONE!  I'm into Metallica(Ride the Lightning, and Master), Opeth, and Iron Maiden(Trooper!).

I also want awesome harmonics, chunky rhythms, excellent articulate leads, and of course addicting tone!  (bridge only for now)

Thanks for your time and advice!

Sean

Miracle Man will be the best choice in my opinion....

The Warpig would be my choice. You will get more saturated gain and a more organic tone from the warpig as well as better cleans. The Miracle man would have a tighter bass and smoother mids. They can both do what you want, but in my opinion the Warpig would be more versatile.

This is more of my light side of metal! But I like to stay at Standard E tuning, so I picked bands that are usually in E.

Been torn between Warpig and MM for a while now and the nailbomb being 3rd.  Then I look at VHIIs, Mules, and Emeralds!   Will it ever end?

Hope not!

It's Miracle Man or Warpig. For the Opeth sound you'll need a Warpig, Jaymz' tone on Puppets can be done with a Warpig (or a Cold Sweat). Lightning is a bit brighter in sound and so is Maiden wich calls for a Miracle Man.

Hmmmm still not sure which one to get!  I get a little more time to think because I have some unexpected bills coming my way. =(

How would the Nailbomb do for these sounds?

Check out the Opeth deliverance demo played with a nailbomb in the players room, great tone!
