Hello to you gurus from Finland!
I'm really in quite desperade need of this information. Question goes like this:
I'm planning to change my Seymour Duncan SH-6 bridge pickup to some BKP bridge humbucker. I've heard lots of good from Warpig and Nailbomb, and these have waken my interest.
I'm looking for a warm, yet tight and punchy tone with good note separation and pleasant highs. These highs are very important because I've already got enough of the SD:s creepy highs, it just doesn't work very well with my weapons.
The pickup should be able to cut thru even quite massive amounts of effects, mainly distortion, so that I wouldn't have to use as much gain as possible to get big and warm sound...if I list playing genres, the mic is going to be used mostly for metal stuff. Heavy riffs, some solos and melody playing. Will be used also as jack-of-all-trades-mic, but metal is the main thing.
I know what you are thinking, such perfect pickup does not exist. ;) But I believe this place is good for seeking such answers...
Oh yeah, and the most important was almost forgotten. Target guitar is Epiphone SG, full mahogany with rosewood fretboard. So that fact may put some limitations on choices?
Thank you all very much for any possible answers!
