How much is Dave Murray's 57 Strat worth?

Any guesses? An ex-Kossoff '57 Strat, purchased by Murray in 1976 and featured on the first 8 Maiden albums and countless tours, including the World Slavery Tour - that's hell of a history.

Any guesses how much it is worth?

It's a tough one!   Considered as "just" a '57 Strat it's been devalued by being carved up for a couple of humbuckers - so the only value is to a collector/fan of Kossoff or Maiden.

I'm sure if it came up for auction it would fetch big money, but nowhere near the Peter Green LP or Hendrix and Clapton Strats.

I believe it's in a glass case in Dave's house as it's officially 'retired'.

I seriously doubt he'd ever sell it.

No i don't think it's for sale, it's just until today i didn't realise it was a 57 strat - a 57 alone would go for a small fortune, but with that CV to its name, it's got to go for a mint surely. Always loved the look/sound of that Strat.

I took that vow and consequently I am still playing my Squier strat from 1983 (luckily it is a JV model, so its kinda acceptable to play)

its a very interesting question. i have no clue. pehaps the fact its a '57 (which i didn't know) might not have too much bearing on the price?
