theres a case for either, but personally i'd take the cold sweat. don't worry about a cold sterile sound - its quite organic in fact.

you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly

I read a lot on this forum and I’m hesitating on Cold Sweat or Holy Driver.

For my Gibsons and Mesa what would be the perfect match?
I’m searching a full, punchy, alive, 3d, modern driven sound .
Punchy power cords but definition and beautiful sound for distorded arpege.
And a warm clean…

I wanted to buy the Cold Sweat but I hesitate because of the ceramic magnet.
I found the ceramic sound cold on my Explorer (500T).

you're describing the holy diver   :D
but the cold sweat is as awesome as the holy diver, just different
it's a little bit hotter than the holy diver, but sharper and brighter, and that's a good thing for a recto
it can do Alter Bridge better on a Recto than the Holy Diver would do, for example
not cold at all
it definitely should be renamed HOT SWEAT

don't you use any kind of booster?

thanks a lot for the advices!
I'll order a Cold Sweat for gibsons!!!

for my Musicman Sub1 (strat like with big alder body and humbuckers)
Vh2, Nailbomb or Holydriver?

I'm a rythm riffer and play straight to the amp without booster (apart noise gate :)).
I'll buy bridge pickups for 2 (or 3) guitars cause I'm searching the better sound for recording with my band in december.
