I don't whether it's immaturity, arrogance or simply 'wanting it too much' but Hamilton definitely needs to improve his judgement in races.

Having said that, he had been tipped to reach F1 for what must have been about a decade before he actually made it, with press coverage most of the way, and constantly being egged on by his dad. When you finally make it, and start winning races, I imagine it's pretty difficult to keep your feet firmly on the ground.

I remember when I used to race at the same Kart meetings as him in Hoddesdon, years and years ago, and even then there were Blue Peter presenters and camera crews following him.

So is queeny here.  She's gone off of it a bit since there's been no.Montoya.  I think she really liked it when he was giving Micheal shitepacker grief.

Did I hear right, and that Ferrari were awarded an extra point as it was ruled Massa was inconvenianced when he drove into the car comming out the pits.  I'm really going off F1 with all the decisions after the race.  Spoils it a bit.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I'm glad you guys sorted that one out - I was getting ready to ask Fernando whether there was something he wasn't telling us  ("Lewis's latest accusations of Fernando hitting him deliberately")

WHAT??! He got another point??!!! What @rsery is this?

Just told the missus - she's a big F1 fan as well - she's not overly impressed with this if it's true...

Don't let her hear you saying bad things about "Michael sigh" though

Anyway, Mr Hamilton, we're not convinced he's gonna prove to be "the man" yet. He's obviously good, but he seems to back himself in risk taking situations where it all "goes wrong". We feel "Michael sigh" made similar mistakes, but he learnt from them - will Mr Hamilton? When he came out after the race and said "I made a mistake..." did he actually believe that, or was he saying what the team had told him - that'll be the decider on whether he conquers the world or not...

Missus doesn't really have a favourite since "Michael sigh" retired, but has a sneaking regard for Massa. She was a massive Ferrari fan when I met her, but she doesn't like the other bloke at all, and feels that Ferrari seem to be getting an awful lot of friendly decisions over the last year or so.

Personally I find myself having a sneaking regard for Mr Alonso at the moment... (having hated him all last year )

I thought I'd see if anyone picked up on it

Yeah I used to do a lot of novice karting in my early teens, and as he's from a nearby town to where I live, he used to frequent the same track. He was several classes and age groups above, and much, much better than me of course   , but it was pretty cool anyway.

EDIT: I remember my dad coming out with a typical know-it-all comment one day: "Mark my words- he'll be in Formula 1 that lad". Oh how I laughed!!!!!!

From the french... 30 minutes after the race, the steward understand as the french made a mistake while going out of the box...
I think he tryed to close the door instead of run and make the bend, what was stupid, as Massa was coming really faster than him... from the point of view that the camera showed here, looks like the french didn't come out of the boxes in the same line as others racers....
But I can be biased, as brazilian
Anyway, to me the french was trying to "go into the flashes of cameras"... How the hell you're going to close the door to a guy trying be win the championship when you're slower than him??

EDIT: Saw the replay of this, in deed now I think Massa was stupid... he hit the guy, not the opposited...

Obviously Senna and "Michael sigh" were marvellous drivers but both were well versed in gamesmanship. This attitude has prevailed with some drivers today and the results are these races where we get all kinds of stunts pulled and F1 is the poorer for it. Having said all that, there are some great drivers in the making-not just Lewis and Felipe. I tend to go for a driver regardless of nationality-he has to have skill and flair and winningis not rhe be all and end all to me. There are way too many political decisions made. I have always watched F1 but I am getting tired of all the silliness that goes on from time to time.

I'm from the age of "one driver rulling them all" or "one car rulling them all"
How much I wish to watch races that many drivers fighting with their arms to win the race, not that thing now, each year Ferrari gets everything, next year Willians, them McLaren... boring...

The Guardian article sums up much of why I have absolutely no interest in F1 racing

In the past the drivers concentrated on getting around the track as fast as possible in one piece. These days the cars are so safe they are perfectly happy to hit other cars.

Years ago (when it was interesting) there would have been a fair chance of killing somebody and that behavour was avoided. It also helped that the drivers where actually friends and spent time together outside of the photo opportinities.

Theres so little for the spectators to watch, thank christ that I live somewhere wheres theres a lot of motorcycle racing and there is still  sportsmanship
Goodbye London !

I kmow what you mean Rob, when you think back to the days of Graham Hill, Jim Clark, John Surtees, Jack Brabham, Mike Hawthorn there was that sportmanship and real life charisma. There is way too much money involved nowadays. I shouldn't like F1 but I just can't help myself even if I do find myself fed up with the antics that may earn the perpetrator a point or two but ultimately demeans him. Now I know that conventional wisdom has it that Senna was a genius and was brilliant- well I am not going to say he was no good  and he did have an uncanny ability to get more out of a car than seemed possible but he also had that attitude whereby anything he did was fine but woe betide anyone else if they try some of his tricks. The low point for me was the times that he and Prost had their comings together-cynical stuff. That attitude has prevailed and for me I like to see anyone exhibiting that behavior fail miserably and be beaten by a driver who would not resort to such tactics-but it rarely happens.
