Finally got a permanent Job
« on: October 20, 2008, 09:38:49 AM »
Since being made redundant last november i have been struggling like hell to find a decent job and have been doing temp work here & there for agencies to survice but over the last few months even this work has been getting thinner on the ground.

But to my delight last week i got a call back from the NHS saying theyd like to offer me the job that i went for an interview for a couple of week back.

So now im preparing to start my highest paying job ever and the woman said on the phone theres high chances of promotion as the nhs promote internally every 6 months or so and that i was described as the ideal candidate by the interviewers.

Would've posted this last week when i found out but i've been really busy with band stuff and signing off etc.

Cheers for your comments.

One of the main things that im looking forward to is the fact that im working for a company that isn't likely to go bankrupt.

I've been working for companys that have gone bust 3 times in the past once just as sales staff, the second assistant manager & the last one supervisor.

Also it seems weird working for the NHS as my drummer has recently started there and my new lead guitarist is attending his interview later today for a position similar to mine, if he gets in thats 3/4 of the band that works for the NHS lol./

That's brilliant news :D :D

I've been unemployed/made-redundant a few times and it's no joke.

The only problem with the cash is that i have mentally spent all the spare cash from the first 6 pays already :S

I take it Jonny is your lead guitarist then....who just failed his interview due to being highly distracted...
congratulations by the way, i'm too young for all that...only by two weeks but i know its hard.

Congrats!

Searched about "made redundant" but didn't understand completely... what is that?

Fernando, "Made redundant" means that you lose your job.The theory is that you are surplus to requirements or"downsizing" as the Americans say.

It means your boss tells you they can't afford to keep you, like pay your wages. So they get rid of you.
