I'm probably too deaf to hear the vocal range of Axl so I quite like this album. While we're talking about this album, any recommendations?

I agree that we should think of it as an Axl solo album.  It's not GnR, but neither was any of the uninspired pap Slash has turned out in recent years.

well, the 2nd solo album of slashs' is quite good. the first one is too stoner rock/boring, but the 2nd one is pretty good straight up rock.
