With that sort of a wide range of styles I'd stay passive, and avoid the EMGs. EMGs are great active pickups, but active isn't best for everything, and even at the metal end, BKPs Miracle Man and Warpig give EMGs a run for their money!! EMGs allways sound like EMGs, a bit clinical, where BKPs allow the tone of the guitar to come through and sound more organic.
I think most BKPs are available in 7 string format. The Nailbomb is a standard goto set for a versatile sound in an Ibanez, and as it's a set I use I recommend it. The neck can do a great jazz tone, and the coil splits are very snappy and stratty, and the bridge is great plaing metal/rock/whatever! Have a listen on the players forum to some clips.
