Spear Guitars
« on: October 30, 2008, 11:59:04 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with Spear Guitars?

They look pretty cool, and are pretty cheap. A friend of mine is looking to buy one from the Gladius Range, and after seeing their prices, i'm tempted to get one.

That one's only 350 quid or so, and i'm starting to think it might be a good guitar to get to play stuff in lower tunings (I want a guitar to have in Drop B). And maybe just whack a BKP in it, and it may be a good shout  for a good sounding guitar for practicing, and it looks great... :)

Anyone ever played/owned one? I'd like to see what they are like.

Cheers,

Ben.

Yeah, lol, I personally wouldn't get the Gladius-SP, and that ht does look bloody nice... :) I'd love to go and try one. Not sure if they are stocked well around the country, or how easy they are to find, but i'd love to have one... :D

I think I've seen them before, but the website isn't working for me currently. It apparently doesn't exist.

Didn't work for me either

The Gladius SP was tested in the March 2008 edition of Total Guitar and was the group test winner - they thought that is was excellent value.

The local music shop here in Leek (Musical Lines it's called, pretty sure they also have an eBay shop) stocks Spear guitars. Never seen them anywhere else though.

Never played one but most of them make me wanna puke just looking at them. Pretty sure they have had that exact guitar on the floor for over a year since I've been here so if he's close enough he could probably come try it out and make them an offer on it? It's always in the window, I guess they wanna get rid of it already.

At first glance they look like the Shine range of guitars - possibly made in the same factory for another client.

That would be very unfortuate.

A mate of mine has a shine, and it looks like it was assembled by stoned chimps wearing blindfolds and oven gloves
