New Project Im Working On! (Painkiller content!)
« on: November 04, 2008, 10:05:36 PM »
My Friend Elliot and I have started a new project just for poops and snickers. Basically i think he has an amazing voice, and i wanted to write music with him that would showcase that. Right now the only goal is to get enough songs done for an ep or a full length even, but i figured i would share our first track with you guys!

We called the band "Of Man Not Of Machine" so that someday we can sell shirts that say OMNOM on them and we can then call our ep or album NOMNOM and then i can truly be happy.

I used my EBMM Petrucci 6 string with a painkiller in the bridge for this song!

Check it out here:

enjoy!

The riffs are okay, not my bag of potatoes.  I like your riff-work with Bulb much better.  I am NOT diggin the vocals, however, for me they seem a little bit theatric (theatric can work in some instances - but IMHO not here).  However, despite these apparent lows (for me) the tone is utter killage!!!

What kind of amp are you using?

Also, i like your idea about the NOMNOM, pretty fookin awesome.  It would be cool though if the band was called "Not of Man, Not of Machine"  Then you could actually use NOMNOM whenever the fvck you want! :)

I quite like it, pretty cool riffage, not as funky as your typical stuff, his voice is pretty damn good, but his screams are quite weak in comparison to his singing. Keep it up.

to me, that sounds like everything i hear on the radio (here in USA... don't really know if we get the same songs mostly). i don't really see that as being any worse than the radio stuff at all, sounds good. now saying that, i personally can't really stand that type of music, i like my metal with a singer who is supposed to be singing metal. so take that however you wan't it. if thats the sound you're going for, then you did an amazing job.

Nice tone, good songwriting & production job - well done.

Going off topic slightly, can I just say that I really like your Periphery stuff.  "Icarus Lives" is such a great song & I really like the riffs in "Totla Mad" too.  Hope you get a singer sorted & the album finished soon! :)
