Bridge pickup! Warpig/Nailbomb/Miracle man!?
« on: November 07, 2008, 08:18:25 PM »
Hey chaps, I'm looking for a tone similar to what Paul Gilbert used in Racer X, fat punchy and full of gain

Out of these 3 pickups what would you recommend?

Questions

1. Do BKP have a store where they for pickups or are they just a retail company?

2. Is it possible to get  Mothers Milk and The Mule in a distressed look like these as well as the bridge pickup?

Thanks

Anthony

The Mule is available in pretty much any cover I think, certainly camo and aged nickle (check the shop for pics).

Not sure about the Mothers Milk, but Tim did distress a Trilogy for us on request, might cost you a couple more pounds, but if its what you want it's probably worth it.

Out of the three the Nailbomb would be the best bet. To be honest though, for Gilbert I'd be looking at some of the vintage-hot pickups - Paul's tone is pretty old-school, just dial in a bit more gain on the amp and you're good to go.

BKP have an online store, if you order direct you can choose the specs you want. I'd recommend calling up and ordering over the phone, that way you can be 100% you're getting exactly what you need.
